Hi, I’m Dr. Jeff Chan.
It’s nice to meet you
With over a decade of experience in psychotherapy, I’m deeply committed to helping people from all walks of life uncover and reach their full potential.
I do this work because I enjoy connecting with people. Clients often tell me they feel a sincere warmth in our sessions which I always balance with honesty and directness.
I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology from Fuller Graduate School of Psychology. I trained at the University of California, Irvine where I worked as a special liaison for the LGBT Resource Center, and then at Duquesne University for my residency where I emphasized on the integration of spirituality, gender, and sexuality. I’ve been in private practice for the past 8 years.
As your therapist, I create a space where you can say whatever you need to say. You are, after all, the expert on your own life. My role is to listen deeply and reflect on what you share with genuineness and insight. I don’t know more than my clients but I see them differently than they often see themselves. I believe true growth is only possible when compassion and honesty work together.
My Approach

We are shaped by past experiences that taught us how to get our needs met. We often go through life reacting instinctively, but problems arise when these familiar responses no longer bring us relief. Pain shows up in many forms—worry, anger, confusion, sadness. My goal is to explore with you why you feel and act the way you do. Awareness alone doesn’t bring change; it brings choice.
Focus on Emotions
I often focus on emotions for two key reasons: they’re often the unseen drivers behind our actions, and they are trying to tell us something we haven’t yet put into words.
By listening to emotions and understanding what they’re trying to communicate, we gain the power to address what’s truly at the root of our struggles.
Notice our Patterns
When we find ourselves in repeated cycles—pursuing the same unfulfilling relationships, perpetually unsatisfied at work, or feeling trapped—it often means we’re making the same choices over and over.
I help you bring awareness to these patterns that may no longer serve you, guiding you toward decisions that support the life you truly want.
